TIPS FOR STUDENTS WISHING TO HAVE
WORK PUBLISHED
-
Decide your reason for
having your work published. Personal?
Commercial?
-
If your intention is to
create a record of your achievements, then you will need to approach a
local printer and arrange for a batch print. You will have to
pay for this yourself, but you may be able to sell some of the copies
to cover the cost.
-
If your reason is
commercial, you will need to consider your target market. (ie:
local? national? international? ) Initially, I recommend
you approach a well-known publisher in your country. If
your work is rejected, you will need to try other publishers.
-
Good Luck.

Shadows
In all this time we've been alive,
for truth we searched when we cared.
At the time just before you die,
thoughts of fear or the last piece of mind?
Remember, I walk alone.
Casting shadows so far from home.
When will I be at peace and proud?
Never while I live in doubt.
In all this time I've been around,
I never forgot the one truth I found.
With the time that's left for me,
in the light I'll be waiting restlessly.
Remember, I walk alone.
Casting shadows I long for home.
When will I find my peace of mind?
Lost inside myself I bide my time.
In the shadows I hunt, in the dark I feed.
In the shadows I kill, in the dark I eat.
All inside me it is black. |

GRACEFUL NATURE
The fragrance of flowers and fruits
The swaying trees;
Dancing from branches to roots
The sparkle, the gurgle,
Of winding rivulets and dancing springs
Sends messages of the many joys it brings
The silvery moon, the twinkling stars,
Bedeck the infinite nocturnal sky,
Under which vast meadows and cornfield lie.
The snowcapped mountains the charming green hills
The sparking pearly dewdrops
Fill the mind with a spectrum of hopes.
The spectacular bounty of Nature
Spreads the essence of harmony, peace and purity,
As in past, present and future. |

MONEY
Money is a store, a treasure
Ah! What glamour is in its measure.
Think! Think! Of any important work
It is money to stir, it is money to mark.
With the poorest and wealthiest seed,
Money is a medium indeed.
Everyone is to behold and fear,
Ah! What change of status is here.
Shopper’s dismay, shopkeeper’s pride
Over it, so many generations hath cried
In this world of pomp and state
Money is a necessity in every aspect
So many great men have quoted of it
across the Nile,
“It is money to laugh, it is money to smile.”

WHEN
When you look at me closely,
When you whisper in my ear,
When you hope for freedom,
And you get a world of fear.
When you wish for a life,
Without war, or fights,
And when you wish that you didn't,
Have to fight for your rights.
When people look at you,
Looking with a stare,
You can't do nothing about,
Just know that they don't care.
When your dreams and all your fears,
Mix up and cause a fuss,
You can count on me,
Count on Us.
When hope is all lost,
You know just what to do,
You look in the mirror,
And see me, see you.
When your life is in a wreck,
Just call out to your friend,
Sincerely me,
Until the end. |

STRONG
WOMAN
You’re a strong woman
I need you to see
You take on the world
And always will believe
You will always try to find
Good in everyone
And you would always get your feelings hurt
Then give what you’ve got when you have none
You have a big heart
And a youthful pure soul
I know you’ll never leave me
That’s how it will always go
So I know you’ll be here
Not too far away
Because you’re in my heart
And will always stay.

A VIEW FROM AFAR....
Torte indecision makes love to lose confusion;
Vague numbness becoming ever nearer,
Hand in hand with stiffness of the jaw.
Passion is playing leap-frog with fear, but is getting trampled
On, by curiosity about what it means.
Guilt squeezes the mind and sends the body out control,
Achieving the unthinkable and re-inventing the terrible.
Fear of loss usurps the right to love in his/her eyes,
Denying them of the only real truth in this beautifully sick world
Death never helped anyone and it probably never will ,
But can you honestly tell me that,
When you're standing on the edge you won't jump?
I can't.

OVERCOME WITH LOVE
The fearful gaping hole of mystery roared with magical delight
Before the day was sealed, waves gently massaged the shore
But when the cloud's blanket wrapped around the now invisible sun
Its lunar tides tore lavishly with no remorse against earth's center steed
When the ocean's fire began too breathe, all yielded
When the gates of Eden opened and light shined through on the other side
She arose from her garden with a smile painted upon her porcelain face
Goddess-loving eyes glimmered in the dark chaos
Her long golden hair shifted in each direction with the wind
Her kind pale fingertips ran along the eye of the storm
Winds were disquieted, and waves were still
Apollo's Sun awoke when she looked upon the sky
The storm dies away... leaving the mother too console her child
Ginger Dean
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I
wrote "Overcome with Love" as a symbolic piece. The storm
represents our chaotic world, and the woman or "Goddess"
represents the love that can overcome all of that chaos. I choose the
mother and child bond because it is one of the most unique states of love,
and we all have a yearning for home. So the title is the true meaning... |
